Etymology

Named for its supernatural mastery over storms, thunder, and lightning.

Anatomy

It is a massive, very colorful bird displaying vivid yellow and red tints across its plumage. It possesses a thick neck and an awe-inspiring wingspan documented at 12 feet across.

Ecology

Dominates the aerial ecosystems and open plains over North Dakota.

Behavior

A highly active, magical avian capable of physically stirring up massive storms and manipulating weather patterns during flight.

Mythology

Theorized to be a magical cousin of the prehistoric New Mexico Teratorn, the Thunderbird is deeply ingrained in indigenous lore and comes equipped with supernatural abilities, including shooting lightning bolts directly from its wings.
