Lizard Man
Fig 1. Lizard Man
A hostile, scaly reptilian humanoid that aggressively defends its swamp territory by ambushing and mauling passing vehicles.
Etymology

Named for its emergence from Scape Ore Swamp near Bishopville, South Carolina, and colloquially known as the Lizard Man of Lee County.

Anatomy

It is a green, perpetually wet creature standing 7 feet tall. Biologically, it is covered in heavy snake-like scales and features piercing red eyes and three-fingered hands.

Ecology

An amphibious predator native to the heavily wooded swamplands and roadsides of South Carolina.

Behavior

It acts as a terrifying ambush predator capable of chasing down vehicles driving 40 miles per hour. It violently leaps onto passing cars, biting and scratching the roofs and fenders of escaping drivers.

Mythology

The legend exploded in 1988 after teenager Chris Davis reported an attack. Skeptical investigators noted the physical impossibilities of the encounter, pointing out that Davis likely just startled a local butterbean farmer guarding his shed.
