Momo

Missouri
Hominid
Momo
Fig 1. Momo
A pungent, bipedal hominid that scavenged pets and frightened locals in the 1970s without ever becoming a major tourist attraction.
Etymology

A portmanteau and abbreviation for the 'Missouri Monster'.

Anatomy

It is a massive, dark-haired bipedal humanoid standing 7 feet tall. It is distinctly characterized by a massive, pumpkin-shaped head and large, glowing orange eyes. It constantly emits a putrid, sickening odor.

Ecology

Native to the terrestrial forests and rural creek beds on the outskirts of Louisiana, Missouri.

Behavior

It acts as a terrifying scavenger. Unlike the elusive Bigfoot, Momo openly wandered into residential backyards, famously observed carrying the bloody remains of a deceased dog.

Mythology

A massive wave of sightings in 1972 prompted the city council and fire department to organize a 20-person armed posse to hunt the creature, though nothing was found. Despite the panic, the creature was honored with a theme park ride at Six Flags St. Louis that operated until 1994.
