Feline Predator
Beast of Bladenboro
Fig 1. Beast of Bladenboro
A vampiric, feline predator that mimics the cries of a human infant to lure and exsanguinate regional livestock and neighborhood pets.
Etymology

Named after the rural town of Bladenboro in North Carolina following a string of mysterious animal deaths in the winter of 1953-54.

Anatomy

It is a sleek, dark, bushy predator measuring roughly 4.5 feet long, physically resembling a massive cat, a bear, or a panther. It possesses crushing jaw strength and leaves physical tracks resembling those of a large dog or cougar.

Ecology

Prowls the terrestrial neighborhoods and heavy swamplands of North Carolina.

Behavior

A highly aggressive, stealthy predator that actively hunts domestic dogs, crushing their jaws and ripping their bodies into ribbons. It possesses a terrifying vocal structure capable of perfectly mimicking a crying human baby to lure prey into the brush. It exhibits vampiric tendencies, supposedly drinking its victims completely dry of blood.

Mythology

The 1953 panic drew hundreds of armed hunters to the swamps. Skeptics and historians argue the killer was merely a bobcat, a wolverine, or a specific German Shepherd/Hound mix named 'Big Boy' that possessed a penchant for jumping fences.
